Our burger of the month comes from a spot in Santa Monica, California called The Counter where you can build your own burger. This cheeseburger lover built hers with the following ingredients:
1/3 pound beef patty
gruyere cheese
avocado
grilled onion and tomato
all on a wheat bun!
The reader who submitted this burger said it was one of the best burger she ever had, calling the burger, and I quote “The bomb!” EAC thanks you for sharing your bomb burger with us!

If there is one near you, Fuddrucker’s is very similar. You get to build it as you go, and watch it being cooked.

awww i grew up eating fuddruckers all the time!! we used to have our christmas gift exchange with some neighborhood friends there every year.
Mmm…the diner across the street from my workplace has a “top your burger with any three from the list” (you can add more if you want to pay for them). I love grilled onions, grilled bell pepper, and feta cheese, usually on a turkey burger patty (easier for me to digest) and enclosed in an onion roll. SO good.
I’ll have to try avocado next time, if they have it. I know they have house-made guacamole- and it’s good. Hmm, guac, grilled mushrooms, and maybe swiss? Hmm…
