Now that’s a serious burger. You can find it at Five Guys, a restaurant chain that began in Northern Virginia in 1986 and now includes chains all over Maryland (see details in this article).
The burgers start at $4.19 and come with up to 15 free toppings! This place was voted No. 1 by Washington Magazine. So if you like cheeseburgers and happen to live in the area, head over to Five Guys for a great burger and fries!

That makes me think of pub burgers, so big that I could have split one with my friend the other day. Delicious and cheap for the quantity of food…
oh, my goodness. that really is the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had. ever. ever.
They’re up in Pittsburgh, too, and some other fun places. It always makes me homesick, though, cause the walls are always decorated with the clippings from The Washington Post and Washingtonian and stuff like that.
But, in the end? Best.burger.ever.
Oh, they’re in multiple states, not just Maryland. We’ve got one a few miles from my house; it’s a bit pricey, and the burger is certainly good, but the fries are outstanding.
I live in Maryland, and we got a Five Guys at the local mall last year. This fat gal highly recommends their burgers and fries, and if you’re not big on burgers, they also have hot dogs too.
…wow. That’s a really handsome burger there….some serious architecture involved in that sandwich!
LOL!!!
My fifteen toppings would be:
cheese
cheese
cheese
tomatoes
ketchup
cheese
mustard
cheese
cheese
cheese
cheese
cheese
cheese
cheese
cheese
Wildflower, you made me LOL. ^__^
That burger made me go O_O *drool*
I love love love 5-guys. But where I live they are cheaper than $4.19!
Do you guys have Gourmet Burger Kitchens? Such good burgers…six inches tall & every variety under the sun. Nothing beats satay sauce and a giant mushroom as a burger topping.
A whacking great lump of mozzarella and pesto comes close, though.
That cheeseburger looks super good, but those fries, that’s what I’ve got my eye on.
I love 5 Guys! I’d never heard of them until 2 months ago, when I moved to Washington, DC. There is one on the ground floor of the building I work in. So yummy! I have to admit, their fries do nothing for me, so I skip them, but the burgers… YUM!
They are the very best burgers ever. Every time I go there I’m shocked that I even like burgers from anywhere else.
angellviews, the cajun fries are even better than the regular ones.
I went to 5 Guys when I lived in Virginia. Their burgers are great indeed. Too bad they don’t have any restaurants where I live now.
Too funny! I had never heard of this place in my life until a couple of weeks ago, when I was visiting a friend in Virginia. Her brother decided to fulfill a 5 Guys craving and brought burgers back for the rest of us too. They were indeed awesome–a very “old-fashioned”-tasting burger IMO. And the big bag of fries they brought back to share was something to behold too.
